Application Scientist

Open Position

CryoWrite is a Swiss-based biotech company. The vision of cryoWrite is to accelerate structure-based drug design by improving the protein structure determination workflow. The cryoWriter is our first tool to reach this goal: a robot for cryo-EM sample preparation that addresses a main bottleneck for structure determination by cryo-EM. The capillary-based sample application makes the cryoWriter the most modular tool of its kind. We are looking for an application scientist to demonstrate the capabilities of the cryoWriter and further develop its capabilities for the future.

What your Tasks are

  • Discussion with and advising of customers on sample preparation
  • Demonstration measurements for (potential) customers
  • Conference visits
  • CryoEM analysis of results
  • Creation of application notes, white papers, web content and social media posts
  • Definition and verification of system specifications for the cryoWriter and its modules

What we Expect

You are a motivated, solution-oriented structural biologist with experience in cryo-EM sample preparation, data recording, and data processing. You have a demonstrated affinity for instrumentation. You are profound in the written and spoken English language. You are a team player with strong communication skills who likes to act at the interface between customers, sales, marketing, development, and production.

What we Offer

We offer a varied job in a small team in Basel, Switzerland’s pharmaceutical capital. We have a flat hierarchy that is customer-oriented, using the input from the team and our customers to create the best possible solution for our customers. You get to work together with scientists in academia and the pharmaceutical industry and visit conferences to keep you up-to-date with the state of the art in the field. We appreciate open communication and expect respectful treatment of each other.

We look forward to receiving your application, including your complete documents, at careers@cryowrite.com
